Salvatore contributes to the identification and evaluation of investment opportunities at Ysios Capital, from both scientific and business viewpoints.
Salvatore has more than 6 years` experience in drug discovery. Prior to joining Ysios, Salvatore worked at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Science at the University of Barcelona (UB), where he received the PhD studying protein-ligand complexes using biophysical techniques. His research mostly focused on the identification of ligands able to modulate “undruggable” proteins such as E3 ligases. While doing an internship at the University of Dundee during his master, he also contributed on the identification of the first nanomolar ligands for VHL E3 ligase that nowadays are employed for PROteolysis TArgeting Chimera (PROTAC) constructions.
Salvatore holds a Master degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Messina and a PhD in Biomedicine from the University of Barcelona.
