Biography

Sriram is an Associate on the Advisory team at the  Telescope Biotech Fund, where he contributes to sourcing and analyzing investment opportunities, integrating both scientific and business perspectives.

Sriram brings over a decade of research experience from VIB in Belgium. His doctoral work explored the blood–central nervous system barrier in the context of infection, aging, and neurodegenerative diseases—revealing how the brain communicates with the periphery via exosomes. Building on this, his postdoctoral research focused on Alzheimer’s disease (AD), where he developed novel mouse models, identified key cell death pathways, and developed innovative therapeutic strategies.

He has authored over 20 high-impact publications, including first and corresponding author papers in Science, Neuron, and Acta Neuropathologica. He was awarded the highly competitive VIB International PhD Fellowship, both junior and senior postdoctoral fellowships from the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO), and the esteemed Ernest Solvay Prize from the Queen Elisabeth Medical Foundation.

Sriram holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and Chemistry, as well as an MSc in Biotechnology from India. He earned his PhD in Biotechnology and Biochemistry from Ghent University, Belgium.
