The Y-mpact model explained
Ysios has developed an in-house proprietary methodology to measure the impact of our investment activity. We call it Y-mpact, which is measured by the Y-score.
The Y-mpact model requests inputs relating to three pillars: Innovation, Social and Governance (ISG), with the goal of providing an overall impact rating, the Y-Score for each company.
Y-Score | Significance |
---|---|
Very high impact | |
High impact | |
Good impact | |
Some impact | |
Low impact |
The Y-Score is represented by the number of stars
Ranging from 1 star (low impact) to 5 stars (very high impact). The Y-Score is assessed for each pillar individually. The overall project score is a weighted average of the three pillars.
In the biotechnology industry, innovation is a large driver of impact
By innovating, our companies expand the boundaries of knowledge, develop novel technical capabilities, and ultimately improve the life of patients.
That is why, unlike other impact measuring tools, Innovation is one of the key pillars of our model. While our companies are all committed to improving their environmental impact, the model does not account for the Environmental pillar considering their small scale and nature of their business.
